Recruitment for full time posts in the South of England has increased for the 10th month in a row say KPMG.
If you ask any recruiter what the major challenge with recruitment is they will tell you it is about finding the right staff. Selection and finding staff is the big challenge.
This concern is reflected in the Close Brothers report.
Business expansion brings with it more concerns than just recruiting staff. The same Close Brothers report shows that cash flow is a major concern. Not surprising really. We are always harking on about cash flow, cash is king, cash first, cash over profit, or whatever else we term it as.
However, there is a little more detail here that caught our attention –
- 29% of firms in the South East quote cash flow as a worrying factor
- 60% of firms said they were unaware of invoice finance
The combination of these two factors suggest that not only is cash flow a concern but the options available to solve it, well business owners are unaware of them.
Alternative Business Finance
Invoice Finance, or Sales Finance, Factoring, Discounting, whatever you want to call it. It is not really a particularly new or alternative way of raising finance. Yes, it has been misunderstood and often businesses are unaware of just how flexible it is, but to be unaware of it? The question of who advises these companies has to be asked.
When considering business expansion then stick to what you know. If you are thinking about cashflow then take good advice, get your options then see what works best for you and only you.
