Be The Business
A new scheme has been launched by West Sussex County Council offering grants to those wanting to start a business, grow locally, or take on higher apprentices. It is about providing support to the ambitious and innovative businesses in the region.
The £850,000 scheme has been commissioned by West Sussex County Council and is being funded by the Kick Start programme which was launched in 2011 to boost local economies.
West Sussex County Council Leader, Louise Goldsmith, said:
“The economy is a key focus for West Sussex County Council over the coming years as I know it is for us all. The more we can do to help create the conditions and support to ensure businesses prosper in the county, the better for everyone”
“The Be the Business programme has been designed to address the issues that businesses have told us need attention – access to finance and support in order to grow and help boost the economy and create jobs. I’m also delighted that such a key part of the programme is the offer to local businesses to take on Higher Apprentices”
“We want to support employers to recruit and develop the young talent they need for business growth and success, and we want to help promote apprenticeship opportunities for local young people”
Be The Business Programme
The programme aims to offer up to £30,000 in grant funding to businesses in the area. In addition there is business support being provided by University of Chichester, Sussex Enterprise and Branduin Business Support.
The scheme is an ideal consideration for any new, or ambitious business in the West Sussex area and schemes like this are something we would love to see more of.
